The health profile is an online page holding your important medical and contact details. You carry an ID carrier - most often a bracelet, but also a tag or another item bearing a QR code and a PIN - and a first responder can reach your profile in three ways:
The profile provides supporting information in a crisis. It does not replace a professional assessment of your condition by a medical professional.
No. An ordinary mobile phone is enough - they scan the QR code, or enter the PIN directly at www.medicalprofile.eu.
No special app is needed.
The emergency view can be opened by anyone who obtains your access QR code, link or PIN. That need not be a medical professional. The view allows the details to be read, not edited.
This is intentional: in an emergency nothing should stand between the responder and the information. For that reason, do not publish your QR code or PIN - on social media, for example - and fill in the profile with what can help in an emergency.
All the sections you have filled in and saved - typically your name, year of birth, photograph, blood type, allergies, medication, medical conditions, medical devices such as a pacemaker, insurance and emergency contacts - including uploaded attachments such as your insurance card. Sections you have left empty are not shown to the responder at all.
The view is read-only: the responder cannot see your login details and cannot change or delete anything in the profile.
Phone numbers listed in the profile - emergency contacts, doctors, your insurer - can be dialled straight from the view.
The responder sends the PIN, following the instructions on your carrier (a bracelet, for instance), to the BodyID service number. The reply contains a brief selection of details from the profile - name, year of birth, allergies, medication, emergency contacts and health insurer. The message also includes room for your own text, which you fill in within the profile; it has a limited number of characters, so use it only for what matters most.
No internet connection is needed, but the phone must be able to send and receive text messages. Delivery depends on the availability of mobile services and cannot be guaranteed in every situation. For security reasons, the number of SMS queries per profile within a given period is limited.
On the Plus and Premium plans, yes - your emergency contacts receive a text message. It may include the location of the device from which the profile was opened; this need not match the current location of the person wearing the carrier. An approximate location is sent first, a more precise one only with the explicit consent of whoever opened the profile.
The responder can also leave their phone number so that your family can reach them quickly.
No. A QR code and a PIN on their own are not a GPS tracker and do not track location. No location can be determined until someone opens the profile, and even then it is the location of their device, not yours.
If you need genuine location tracking and an emergency button, the SOS devices at www.bodyid.com are made for that.
Yes. The profile is available anywhere with an internet connection. Its interface is available in Czech, English, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Slovak, so a responder abroad can find their way without an app.
Notes and descriptions you have written in your own words, and the contents of uploaded documents, are not translated - they appear exactly as you entered them. For the details that matter most to you, consider adding a brief note in English as well.
Without internet, the Emergency SMS can be used - with the same limitations described there.
The account is your login - an e-mail address and a password. The health profile is a specific set of details that the QR code on the carrier (a bracelet, for instance) leads to. You create the account first, and the profile inside it.
Registering an account and using the Basic plan are free. A paid plan is something you activate separately - creating an account costs you nothing and activates nothing automatically.
If you activate the 14-day trial of the Plus or Premium plan, the terms of the subsequent payment are shown to you at activation.
Register free of charge at www.medicalprofile.eu and fill in your profile - it takes a few minutes and you need neither a carrier nor a payment card. The carrier - a bracelet, a tag or another item - can be ordered at www.bodyid.com and activated with the PIN on its back, directly in your profile.
On the back of the carrier (a bracelet, for instance) there is a nine-character PIN. Log in to your account, open the profile in question and enter the PIN in the activation field. This links the carrier to the profile, and its QR code and PIN begin to lead to your details.
Activation is always done in the profile the carrier is meant to belong to - if you manage profiles for several people, take care to enter the PIN in the right one.
Yes. You can activate several carriers for one profile at the same time - a bracelet for sport and a key tag, for example.
Each has its own PIN and all of them lead to the same details.
The carrier, most often a bracelet, is bought separately. You can use the health profile on the free Basic plan. Paid plans extend the range of details and add further features depending on the plan chosen - see the Plans page for an overview.
At www.bodyid.com you can choose from several types of carrier in various sizes and colours, to suit an adult, an older person or a child - on some bracelets you can set the size to fit your wrist exactly. The current range is always listed there.
Yes. One account can hold several health profiles - each with its own details and its own QR code.
Yes. The profile of a minor is created and managed by their legal guardian.
Yes. The plan is chosen and paid for each profile individually. You can therefore have Premium for a parent with several medications and diagnoses and the free Basic plan for yourself - each profile gets exactly what it needs.
The 14-day trial, too, can be used for only one profile per account.
The Basic plan is free forever. Plus costs €4.90 a month or €40.90 a year, Premium €6.90 a month or €60.90 a year. All prices include VAT and apply to a single profile. Paying annually saves you roughly 30 % on Plus and 26 % on Premium.
Current prices and a comparison of features are on the Plans page.
The exact limits for each section are set out in the table on the Plans page.
During the 14-day trial you have all the features of the chosen Plus or Premium plan available to you, including its respective entry limits and attachment options. Nothing is charged for the duration of the trial.
The trial can be used for only one profile per account. If you manage several profiles in your account, the trial cannot be activated for the others.
We will e-mail you before the trial ends so that you can decide in good time.
Card payments are handled by the ComGate payment gateway. We do not retain the full details of your payment card.
The subscription renews automatically in the cycle you have chosen until you cancel it. We will e-mail you before the end of the trial and before the end of every paid period, so that no payment takes you by surprise.
If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the first payment is taken according to the cycle you chose and the subscription continues. You can cancel the trial in your account at any time - cancel in time and nothing will be charged.
The higher plan is activated immediately and the unused part of the current period is credited towards the payment for the new plan. You do not pay twice for the same days.
Cancel in your account or by e-mail to info@bodyid.com. No further payment will be taken and the paid features remain available to you until the end of the period already paid for.
The profile then moves to the free Basic plan. Your data is not deleted - but the limits on the number of entries begin to apply: entries above the limit cannot be edited, and you can either keep or delete them. You can return to a paid plan at any time, and the limits are lifted again according to the plan chosen.
Fill in above all the important and current information. Review your profile regularly and update it whenever your details change.
What a responder needs first is an emergency contact, allergies, medication and medical conditions. To create a profile, your first name, surname, year of birth and nationality are enough - mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk in the form.
Personal details, Spoken languages, Insurance, Addresses, Emergency contacts, Medication, Vaccinations, Allergies, Medical conditions, Past illnesses and surgeries, Family history, Medical devices, Doctors, Documents and Additional information. You need not fill in everything at once.
The limits differ by plan and by section - medication, for example, is 2 entries on Basic, 4 on Plus and unlimited in number on Premium. The complete and always current table for all sections is on the Plans page.
You get higher limits and further features according to the plan chosen. The Plus plan does not remove the limits, it only raises some of them - addresses, insurance, medical conditions, past illnesses, family history and medical devices remain at one entry. Sections without any limit on the number of entries come only with Premium.
The Basic plan has no document upload. The Plus plan allows it for insurance and vaccinations - typically an insurance card and a vaccination record. The Premium plan allows attachments in every section, medication included.
Yes, on every plan, the free Basic plan included. A photograph helps with identification if you are unable to communicate, and it is shown to the responder in the emergency view. We recommend refreshing it from time to time.
That is what the important alert field in the Personal details section is for. It belongs to whatever is most critical for a responder to know immediately - a severe allergy, a pacemaker, or a condition that changes how help should be given.
Keep it short and confined to the essentials; everything else has its own section.
Data is encrypted both in transit and at rest on the server, and we make a complete daily backup to a geographically separate data centre. Access to the account is protected by a password, and the emergency view by an access PIN of nine characters. A detailed description is on the Security page.
Details entered in forms are stored on servers in the Czech Republic; documents and files in Amazon Web Services data centres within the European Union. More on security is on the Security page, and on the processing of personal data on the Personal Data page.
Deactivate access to the profile straight away - in the list of profiles in your account, much as you would block a payment card. Deactivation stops every route to your details: the QR code, a manually entered PIN and the Emergency SMS, for every carrier belonging to that profile. The PIN is printed on the carrier and cannot be changed online, so a lost carrier still bears its code. If it is gone for good, write to us at info@bodyid.com and we will agree with you how to make sure it no longer leads to your details. You can order a new carrier at www.bodyid.com and activate your profile with it. The data in the profile remains unchanged.
Yes. You delete the profile in your account. It disappears from the account at once and is no longer available to anyone - neither the QR code nor the PIN will open it, and nothing is shown in the emergency view.
We keep a copy of the data for a further 30 days, so that we can restore the profile if you deleted it by mistake or change your mind; just write to us at info@bodyid.com. After those 30 days we erase the data permanently and it can no longer be restored.
By e-mail at info@bodyid.com, by phone on +420 775 677 103, or through the chat on the website. Should we fail to reach agreement, you may use out-of-court resolution of consumer disputes through the Czech Trade Inspection Authority at adr.coi.cz. Our Terms and Conditions and Complaint Terms are linked in the footer of the website.
All your data stays. Accounts created in the previous version move to the Basic plan, which is free forever. The paid Plus and Premium plans, with higher limits and further features, are new - and if you do not want them, you need do
nothing.
No. Medication, allergies, contacts and medical conditions all stay in the profile unchanged and remain visible in the emergency view. If you have more entries than the Basic plan allows, they are not deleted - they simply cannot be edited. You can keep them, delete them, or move to a higher plan.
No. The profile remains at its usual address and the QR codes and PINs on your existing bracelets and tags work unchanged. There is no need to obtain new ones.
The Basic plan remains free forever and contains what matters most in an emergency - the emergency view for responders, the Emergency SMS, an emergency contact, allergies, medication and medical conditions.
The paid plans cover features that are either new or costly to run: alerts to emergency contacts, document attachments and higher entry limits. Subscriptions are what allow us to keep developing the service.
